The objective of this thesis is to answer which are the decisive influencing factors on the building technology
concepts with focus on building electrical engineering. It is also analyzed to what extent the output variables
change on the basis of the influencing factors.
In the analysis of the planning process, the influencing factors were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively
in terms of their relevance. A building technology concept is influenced by hard and soft factors. The hard
factors are the location, the legal framework, and the building structure. The soft factors are the building use,
the building safety, the security of supply, the sustainability, the flexibility, and the finishing standard.
To answer the research question, the hard factors were evaluated using characteristic values. The evaluation
of the soft factors was made with three reference objects, whereby a calculation of the output variables was
carried out for each building category. Specifically, a comparable evaluation could thus be created. These
evaluations were implemented in an Excel tool and can be mapped in a dynamic model. With a selection list
of Low, Medium and High, the building owner can define the respective requirements for the influencing
factors. The value-based evaluation is carried out with the calculated values from the analysis of the reference
objects. The sensitivity-based evaluation can be individually adapted by the client on the basis of the BKP.
The results of the analysis and the dynamic model show that the influencing factors have a different impact
depending on the building category. The costs and the thermal power and energy demand are most influenced
by the impact factors for the building category «residential» - the space requirement, as well as the C02
emission for the building category «office» and the electrical power and energy demand for the building
category «school».
Should further research be conducted in the area of impact analysis building technologies concepts, a large
number of reference objects per building category are to be analyzed and evaluated. On the basis of the
foundations created with the Excel tool, a data expansion can take place in this regard.

In this bachelor thesis the optimal air renewal system and its position has to be developed for a high-rise
office building. The project from the interdisciplinary project module of the Bachelor+ serves as a basis. For
this purpose, an analysis of the climatic conditions of the office space has been carried out. The results show
that the office rooms need cooling already from an outside temperature of five degrees. The ventilation system
should relieve the cooling system and blow into the room with an under temperature. The comparison of
variants considers economic criteria such as capital costs, maintenance, servicing and energy costs, as well
as ecological criteria such as grey energy, which is used for the production and disposal of the ventilation
system. A central ventilation unit serves as a reference variant, with which the other ventilation variants are
compared to.
It turns out that the variants exhaust air system with secondary air flow in the facade and sill ventilation units
are more suitable than a central ventilation unit. With the exhaust air system, the fulfilment of the conditions
of air flow in the room, fire protection, sound insulation and heat recovery are more critical compared to the
reference variant. The reference variant central ventilation unit still scores well.
Finally, the effect of an increasing CO2 concentration in the outside air on the ventilation concept is shown
using the reference variant. With a constant air volume, an increase in the CO2 concentration from 1’400 to
1’600 ppm is to be expected in the offices. If the maximum concentration of 1’400 ppm shall maintain, an
increase in the volume flow is expected to increase the electricity consumption of the fans by a factor of more
than 1.46.

The trend in today's planning of energy systems goes towards leaner and more efficient systems and systems, that are better adapted to the needs of the user. But this aspect only partially applies to planning of smoke and heat protection systems. The situation that an adaptation to the existing objects is only par-tially available is due to the differentiation between systems with a qualifica-tion and systems without one. The advantage of differentiation is that the ef-fort of planning and authorization is lower for systems without a qualification. It is possible to dispense this qualification because the dimensioning is based on the specifications of the fire protection guidelines by the Vereinigten Kan-tonalen Feuerversicherungen (VKF). These specifications from the fire pro-tection guidelines grant sufficient safety to achieve the requirements. But a dimensioning with higher safety leads to larger systems, which require higher investments and space. With today’s focus on more efficiency systems it’s kind of lie to the client if there are options available to achieve the same level of safety with less effort but not to include those.
The aim of the bachelor-thesis with the title «Optimale Rauch- und Wärme-abzugsanlage für ein Hochhaus und Grossräume» is, to show the difference between several dimensioning methods. The comparison is made between the standard scenario VKF and selected engineering methods focus on the fire development. The comparison shows that with the right engineering methods savings up to 20% in investment and around 25% in space are possible. Since both of the previous aspects are advantages for the building owner and the technical concept, without lowering the protection function, the engineering methods should be considered for all systems. Currently these methods are not used to their full potential because the knowledge by the qualifier and the planner is not yet sufficient. But for the companies and qualifiers, that know the engineering methods it should be possible to achieve these savings.

The growing world population, resource scarcity, climate change, as well as the already noticeable food
shortage require new solutions for a complete food supply. One approach is vertical farming, which refers to
the cultivation of plants in rooms under optimal and artificially created conditions. The start-up "Growcer" is
the first company in Switzerland to realise a vertical farm. On their behalf, a ventilation concept with the
utilization of waste heat is being developed for this purpose. The concept must meet the requirements of the
plant and the modularity regarding the construction of such farms. Besides those requirements, likewise both
economic and ecological aspects must be considered.
Studies of variants are used to narrow down and evaluate possible concept solutions. Simulation analyses,
calculations of energy consumption, investment and operating cost calculations justify the choice of concepts
over others. This leads to the conclusion, that due to the high internal resource requirements, air recirculation
systems with water recovery is the best solution due to reasons regarding energy and cost. By utilising the
synergies of these systems, an overall concept for the vertical farm is developed. Finally, the annual
requirements and operating costs are being calculated and an initial investment cost analysis is made.
In a next phase, depending on the location of the farm, different energy resources must be considered to
ensure the most economical and environmentally friendly operation of a vertical farm. Thus, adjustments to
the proposed technology are necessary in order to provide a contribution against climate change in the food
supply.

The present paper deals with the analysis of different heat recovery systems with and without moisture recovery at different locations in Switzerland. The focus is on the influence of the recovery on the air cooler and the reheater. An administration building is chosen as an example with high demands on the indoor climate. Mechanical ventilation is crucial in maintaining the desired room setpoints. The aim is to ensure the best possible comfort in the room with the lowest possible energy consumption. Five geographically representative locations are selected from the locations with the most administrative buildings. Climate data from the present and from the IPCC future scenario A1B are used to simulate different recovery options. From the resulting data, the individual installations in the ventilation unit are examined in detail and the energy requirements of the entire building are analysed. In order to provide a rough overview of the economic efficiency, an estimate of the possible energy cost savings is prepared. The evaluation shows a possible saving of up to 7 % in the final energy requirement of the building. In addition, it turns out that moisture recovery should only be used about 60 % of the operating time. For this reason, switching between two heat recovery systems has an energetic benefit, but the variant is only economically viable from a certain plant size upwards.

effizientesten.
This bachelor thesis deals with the development of a building technology engineering concept adapted to fish
farming as a basis for the planning of a new indoor recirculation system. The water cycle of breeding
facilities is intensively investigated and optimized. The indoor air, however, is poor in existing facilities. The
high moisture content can lead to corrosion and mold in the plant. The necessary ventilation system must
guarantee air quality and material protection. The consideration of the entire energy supply leads to the goal
of creating an energy-efficient system. The focus of this work is to identify problems and their dependencies
in fish farms, and develop effective optimization measures.
The analysis of the theoretical foundations with the development of aquacultures, the influence of physical
factors and the plant requirements, lay the foundation for the requirements. The set-point range of a fish farm
(FZA) differs significantly from the one of an office. For pike-perch fish with a tank temperature of 21 °C, a
room temperature of 23 °C has a positive effect. A maximum room air humidity of up to 70 % saves
dehumidification energy while protecting the building structure. The variant study has shown that high air
exchange rates save operating energy. Considering the life cycle costs, a ventilation system with double air
exchange is the most efficient.
