The Housing Question: An Odyssey is a documentary video installation about urban living, the right to housing and the urban housing market. The project deals with the privatization of our cities and the resulting gentrification processes, that more and more divide cities along monetary fault lines and class differences. Viewers go on a journey with the artist, starting from a house in Basel who's tenants had to move out to make room for redevelopment, to discover the financial entanglements of the owners behind the house that lead to a refugee camp in Burkina Faso where Doctors without Borders is helping internally displaced persons. The work encourages viewers to think about their own living situation and introduces tools for research and resistance to affected persons. It does not only reflect on the concrete hardships of our current housing market, but on the philosophical question of what dwelling is for us today and how we can think anew our relationship to the spaces we inhabit.

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the approval for a pain therapy software. SALUT-E has developed the innovative pain therapy software PAINFREE2GO. The app provides an avatar which allows patients to easily mark their pain exactly where it occurs. Afterwards the patients can describe their pain. It is possible that PAINFREE2GO is a mobile medical app. This raises the question of which regulatory requirements must be considered according to the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and
how could these requirements be specified to a approve PAINFREE2GO for the Swiss and European market. Primarily, the intended use of the application is defined. Based on the intended use, PAIN-FREE2GO is classified as a medical device of class IIa. To pass the conformity assessment procedure and to place PAINFREE2GO on the market as a medical device, a technical file must be written for a class IIa medical device. This includes a quality management documentation according to ISO 13485, a risk management file according to ISO 14971, an usability file according to IEC 62366-1, a software development file according to IEC 62304 and a clinical evaluation according to MEDDEV 2.7/1. For each standard or guideline and the required documentation or file a checklist was created. These check-lists show the specific required work, process and documentation. In conclusion, the created checklists show the regulatory requirements according to the MDR as well as the standards to be considered for the Swiss and European market. Thus, this bachelor thesis serves SALUT-E as a guideline to place PAINFREE2GO successfully on the market.
The clinical diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases is very time consuming, protracted and expensive. In
case of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, ferritin accumulates in the patient's brain
even before the clinical symptoms appear. The company Artha AG would like to develop inexpensive and
fast measurement hardware for ferritin measurements in the brain. The measurement serves as the first
indicator of a possible neurodegenerative disease. For Artha AG it is the first medical product, that is
developed by them. Since medical products are subject to the CE-marking, Artha AG has to prove within a
conformity assessment process that all requirements of the MDR are met for the ferrite detector. It is
therefore in the company's interest to determine which regulatory requirements are placed on the entire life
cycle of the ferritin detector. In addition, it is in the interest of Artha AG to specify the requirements for the
manufacturer with regard to the quality management system, market introduction and market surveillance.
The aim of the thesis is to describe the regulatory requirements for the ferrite detector so that the documents
created serve as a plan for the technical documentation. The first step is to determine the intended purpose
and classification. In addition, standards must be used to meet the requirements to elicit the safety and
performance, the risk management system, the usability, the product -verification and -validation, the
identification and traceability, as well as the clinical evaluation and clinical examination. The intended
purpose describes the ferrite detector, as well as its relevant environment and their interaction with each
other. The ferrite detector is assigned to class IIa because it is an active medical device for diagnostic and
monitoring purposes, with a temporary application period. The safety and performance of the ferrite detector
is proven by the MDR and by Standards. The requirements for the risk management system, the usability, the
product-verification, the product-validation, the clinical evaluation and the clinical test are documented with
regard to the ferrite detector. The conformity assessment procedure is carried out on the basis of the quality
management system and the complete technical documentation. The obligations that the manufacturer has,
with regard to the quality management system, market introduction and market surveillance, are documented
in the thesis. The collected regulatory requirements for the ferritin detector covers the interests of Artha AG.
They serve the company as a plan for the scope of the technical documentation to be created and its
obligations as a manufacturer. The work can be continued in the next step in order to create the final technical
documentation.
