Variable Rate Application Steuerung gesteuert.
This bachelor thesis documents the development of a concept solution for a mobile test
system. This can be used for statements about the spraying accuracy depending on the
speed of the spray train.
today's society it’s more and more important that public transport is cheap, reliable and
environmentally friendly. For a high reliability, maintenance and servicing of its own products
are an important factor for the company. The difficulty here is to find the right balance
between time pressure and quality. If processes or work steps can be made more
environmentally friendly, this increases the company’s reputation in society.
SBB has set itself the goal of completely eliminating glyphosate by 2025. SBB is currently
using glyphosate to control weeds in the track beds, which is part of the maintenance of the
Swiss rail network. To make this possible, they built the spray train that fights the weeds with
95°C hot water. The spraying mechanism is controlled by a control system with a variable
rate application. Unfortunately, the spraying accuracy is not satisfactory at higher speeds. As
a result, either the speed must be reduced or too much water has to be used.
This paper presents three possible combinations of a mobile test system for the spray train.
Following the study of possible options, a fourth possible combinations was drawn up in
cooperation with the person responsible at SBB. This formed the basis for the final solution
concept. As a conclusion, all open issues that are necessary for implementation were listed
and supplemented with a risk assessment.
