In St. Margrethen entsteht gleich neben dem Bahnhof auf dem Areal Alp ein
Schreinerkompetenzzentrum. Die verschiedenen bisherigen Standorte der Schreinerschulen und der
ÜK-Zentren werden neu unter einem Dach vereint. Mit einer grosszügigen Lernlandschaft mit
integrierter Lerntreppe, Kaffeebar sowie einer Materialbibliothek werden die Werkstätten mit den
Lernräumen verbunden. Beim Projekt steht der Schreiner selbst im Zentrum. Es wird darauf
geachtet, dass das Gebäude möglichst gut auf den Schreiner abgestimmt ist. Wie auch der Beruf des
Schreiners ist das Gebäude pragmatisch praktisch aufgebaut, wobei ein grosser Wert aufs Detail
gelegt wird.
In St. Margrethen, a carpentry competence center is being built right next to the train station on the
Alp site. The various previous locations of the carpentry schools and the ÜK centers will now be
united under one roof. A spacious learning landscape with integrated learning stairs, a coffee bar and
a materials library will link the workshops with the learning rooms. The project focuses on the
carpenter himself. Care is taken to ensure that the building is as well suited as possible to the
carpenter. Like the carpenter's profession, the building has a pragmatic, practical structure, with
great attention to detail.
